Professor Tyrone Angolia
Tyrone Angolia began training in Praying Mantis Kung Fu in 1994 and was fortunate enough to train with his Sifu for the next ten years. In 2003 he became a successor of the Chen Zhen Yi lineage of 7 Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu. In 2007 he began training MMA and then started to compete the following year. Thoroughly enjoying competing in MMA matches naturally led him to training in Jiu Jitsu.
Tyrone began training with Professor Ben Baxter in 2009, and currently holds the rank of degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He currently teaches at Precision Martial Arts in Corvallis. Tyrone is a multiple time IBJJF Medalist, and brown belt American National Champion.
Tyrone’s path to excellence is paved by helping his students increase their kinesthetic awareness, neuromuscular connection and overall muscular endurance through martial arts and conditioning.

Coach Erik "Pix" Rhay
Erik “Pixador” Rhay started his path in martial arts in Capoeira, a Brazilian martial & cultural art. This led him to Sifu Tyrone Angolia. Learning 7 Star Praying Mantis kung fu from Sifu Angolia instilled in him a love of hard work and pursuing excellence through mental focus & physical expression. This love would transform into a lifestyle of learning, teaching and traveling to explore, expand and share what martial arts could provide.
His passion for helping others get better at martial arts has led him to being a cornerman, training & sparring partner for several MMA camps, both amateur and professional
He has taught capoeira for various schools and non-profit organizations. He has continued training & working with his long-time Sifu and now Professor, Tyrone Angolia, and currently hold the rank of brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and is actively competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, reaching the podium in almost every tournament entered.

Coach Demian Hommel
I am a Professor of Geography at Oregon State University, and I intend to bring an educator’s mindset to my classes at Precision Martial Arts. While living in Thailand for four years to complete my graduate and doctoral research, I trained at a wide range of camps across the country, analyzing the diverse methods and the strengths of different systems. I’ve spent decades distilling those international experiences into a clear, teachable method designed to help you build applicable skills and confidence.
My teaching philosophy is pragmatic and evidence-based: I believe that with structured support and consistent effort, anyone can become a proficient striker. My goal is to break down the technical nuances of Muay Thai to make them accessible, effective, and rewarding.
